A weird time of year?

If this were any other year normally I would've come back from the fair by now and said to myself, "okay the summer is almost over, what are you going to do for Halloween?" Between now and the first week of September I would usually have a few ideas for a costume rolling around in my head. It hit me how unusual this time of year is when I was grocery shopping in the bulk section of the grocery store yesterday. I noticed that the pumpkin spice almonds were right next to the salt water taffy. Weird right?
We will soon be nearing our second harvest which occurs on the final week of September. So now all of us Wiccans tend to linger longer with the Sun God and thank him for all he gave us, with our embrace. It's always bitter sweet when our Sun God dies. We know it needs to happen but still we look forward to Halloween. Because large gatherings, like the fair, have been prohibited, and we were indoors for most of the summer, it doesn't really feel like summer should be over at all.
Around this time I would be planning my annual trip to the Spirit of Halloween, for home decorations and costumes. I still feel like a huge chunk of my summer is missing since we missed the fair this time around. Even though Halloween makes me happy I'm not looking forward to a long WNY winter that will keep me indoors for another season. I hope my talking about this is letting my followers know that they're not alone. If you would like to talk about this more please join me on Facebook or leave your thoughts in my "share your story" section.
Let's all keep walking with the Goddess. We will get through this transition together.
